He had his heart set on astrophysics and wants to write on his theories that he's had for decades, but after praying he felt God wants him to focus on English and teach. We are in our mid 50's and this would be a totally new direction for us! We live in an area where academic performance is very low and teachers are in short supply. Kairo is a bright and brave 2-year-old boy who has been fighting to breathe since the day he was born. When he was just 4 days old, he stopped breathing and was rushed to a private doctor, where he was diagnosed with laryngomalacia — a condition that causes the soft tissues of the voice box to collapse, making it hard to breathe.

He needs emergency surgery within the next few weeks or else doctors have advised that there is nothing more that they can do for him, but I believe that we serve a true and faithful God.

I feel so far from God, I feel like he's angry with me, that he's not listening to me. I'm not angry, I know he gives me what I deserve, and what I deserve is not what I want and makes me happy, but it's so hard to bear. Nothing works, to feel so useless and alone. I thought I was getting better but everything fell apart again. I haven't been able to recover for almost a year, I can't take it anymore. This is one of Jesus most misunderstood statements, yet it carries deep truth.

Jesus is not saying he came to bring violence he came to bring truth, and truth often cuts, divides, and exposes. The “sword” represents:
   •   Division between light and darkness
   •   Separation from sin
   •   A choice between the world and Christ

When Jesus enters a person’s life, everything changes. Sometimes families divide, friendships shift, and relationships are tested. Not because Jesus is destructive but because truth forces decisions.

The gospel confronts, challenges, and convicts. It separates what is holy from what is unholy. Jesus brings peace within us, but his truth doesn’t always bring peace around us especially when people resist the change that Christ brings.

Choosing Christ may cost comfort, relationships, or acceptance, but it brings eternal life and lasting peace with God.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus,
Thank you for being the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Help me to stand boldly for your truth even when it brings division or discomfort. Give me courage to follow you fully, regardless of who does or doesn’t understand.

Strengthen me to endure rejection, misunderstanding, or conflict that comes from choosing you.
Cut away anything in my life that does not align with your will, and fill me with the peace that only your presence brings.

Reflection:
This verse reminds us that salvation is not something we stumble into it is a divine invitation. Jesus teaches that no one can truly come to Him unless the Father draws them. That “drawing” is the gentle pull of the Holy Spirit touching a person’s heart, opening their eyes, and awakening their spirit to recognize their need for Christ.

This means:
   •   Your salvation is intentional, not accidental.
   •   God Himself initiated your journey of faith.
   •   You are wanted, chosen, and pursued by Heaven.

The verse also points to the promise of resurrection that those the Father draws and who respond to Christ will be raised up on the last day. This is assurance, security, and hope for every believer.

Father God,
Thank you for drawing me to Jesus. Thank you for touching my heart, opening my eyes, and calling me into your presence. I recognize that I am only here because you chose me, pursued me, and loved me first.
