I am 47 years old and I’ve only had two relationships. Both women dumped me and said “You’ll never be happy.” That’s a heavy weight to live with. Say it to yourself with feeling: “You’ll never be happy” and then imagine hearing it twice in your life. I don’t fear living alone but I fear dying alone. As I get older, it seems more likely which is why I think more about why I’m still here. At least, I could be in control of my own end. More and more, it not only seems possible, but probable.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
