"When Peter got down out of the boat, he walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, 'Lord, save me!' Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him." — Matthew 14:29–31
When Jesus walked on water and Peter asked Him to command him to come out onto the water, Jesus didn't calm the storm first. Instead, He invited Peter to walk through the storm with Him.
Peter began to walk on water, but when he took his eyes off Jesus and focused on the wind and the waves, fear took over and he started to sink. Yet even then, Jesus immediately reached out His hand and lifted him up.
In our daily lives, Jesus doesn't always remove the storms we face. Our stress, struggles, fears, and problems. Sometimes, instead of calming the storm around us, He calls us to walk through it with Him. He teaches us to strengthen our faith and keep our eyes fixed on Him rather than on the challenges surrounding us.
And when we stumble, lose faith, or begin to sink under the weight of our circumstances, Jesus is always there to reach out His hand and lift us back up. We never face the storm alone.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, not on the storm.

Bible Verse for this Prayer

Hebrews 12:2

Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
