WHY DOES GOD ALLOW SIN AND SUFFERING?
If God is so good, so powerful, and so loving... why does He allow sin, suffering, pain, poverty, sickness, war, rápe, heartbreak, depression, and death to exist in the world?
— WHY IS THE WORLD SO BROKEN?
Let's start with what we see: Innocent people dïé.Children starve. People are trafficked and abúséd. Nations are torn apart by war. The rich get richer while the poor suffer. It's hard to look at this world and not wonder, "God, where are You? Why do You let this happen?"
But here's the thing:
God didn't create the world to be like this.
He created it to be perfect, peaceful, and beautiful.
"God saw all that He had made, and it was very good." —Genesis 1:31
There was no death.
No sickness.
No poverty.
No betrayal.
No pain.
So what happened?
— THE ENTRANCE OF SIN
God gave humanity something powerful:
free will.
Why?
Because love that is forced isn't love.
You can force obedience, but you can't force love.Love must be a choice. Imagine if your friends were programmed to love you. Would that mean anything? No. Real love comes from choice, not control. So, God gave Adam and Eve a choice: Obey and live forever in harmony -or rebel and face the consequences. They chose rebellion.
That moment is what we call "The Fall" (Genesis 3).
Sin entered the world like a virus-and it infected everything.
It broke our relationship with God.
It broke our relationship with each other.
It broke creation itself (natural disasters, sickness, decay).
And it introduced pain, suffering, and death into the human experience.
— IF GOD IS GOOD, WHY NOT JUST STOP IT?
It's a good question.
If God is powerful, why doesn't He just wipe out evil and suffering?
Let's say He did that right now.
Let's say at midnight tonight, He decides to erase all evil, sin, and suffering instantly.
Here's the catch:
If He erases all evil-He'd also have to erase every person who has ever sinned... including me and you.
Because sin isn't just something "others" do.
It's in all of us-greed, jealousy, lust, lies, anger, pride.
The same free will that gives us the ability to love and create beauty also gives us the ability to hurt and destroy.
So what did God do?
He chose a different path: Instead of destroying us, He chose to save US.
—GOD ENTERED THE SUFFERING
God didn't stay far away.
He didn't watch us suffer from the clouds.
He stepped into human skin.
He became one of us.
Jesus didn't come as a rich king in a palace-
He came as a poor baby born in a manger.
He knew hunger. Pain. Betrayal. Loneliness.
He was tortured, mocked, and crucified.
Jesus didn't just watch our suffering-He felt it.
And in the greatest twist of love in history,
He took the punishment for all sin on Himself.
"By His wounds, we are healed." - Isaiah 53:5
The cross shows us two things:
1. How serious sin really is.
2. How far God is willing to go to rescue US.
—BUT WHY IS THERE STILL SUFFERING NOW?
If Jesus died to save the world, why are we still suffering?
Because God is patient.
He's giving people time to hear the truth, turn to Him, and be saved.
"The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise... He is patient, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." – 2 Peter 3:9
We are living in the "in-between": The world has been rescued, but not yet fully restored.
Jesus defeated sin and death, but the final victory is coming.
One day, He will return. And when He does: No more poverty. No more cancer. No more heartbreak.No more war.No more crying
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or pain." — Revelation 21:4
—BUT DOES MY SUFFERING MEAN GOD DOESN'T LOVE ME?
Not at all.
In fact, suffering is often where we feel
God most deeply.
When you're broken, He becomes your healer.When you're grieving, He becomes your comfort.When you're lost, He becomes your guide. When you're poor in spirit, He fills you with hope.
God doesn't waste pain.
He uses it to shape you, teach you, strengthen you-and sometimes, even through your pain, help others.
Look at Joseph in the Bible (Genesis 37-50)
Betrayed by his brothers. Thrown in a pit.Sold into slavery.Falsely accused.Thrown in prison.
Yet, in the end, he said: "You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good."
That's the kind of God we serve-a God who can take even the ugliest pain and turn it into something beautiful.
I’ve lived 35 years of my life on the brink of losing my home and not being able to make rent and living pay check to pay check. I’ve completely lost my job for the last month and a half and I am down to my last 10 dollars. I’ve prayed all my life for a financial breakthrough yet here I am. Hello, I have been in a Christian community for about 8 months. Primarily because of the great community. Because I don't believe in God, but I find all of this very interesting.
I am increasingly noticing how beautiful faith is and how beautiful life can be when you believe in Jesus, the Lord.
I would like to believe, but I find it incredibly difficult.
I grew up without a Christian background and I don't see why I should just leave my hobbies and what was important to me behind in order to believe in God.
I am into psychological thrillers, pornography, horror films, etc. And my taste in music is not the best either.
Most of what I deal with is a sin and/or against God.
I am aware of all this.
I would like to see a reason behind believing in God. I want to feel the peace that everyone who follows the Lord feels. I want to realize that all my hobbies and interests are much less than the gain I could achieve if I accepted God as my Lord.
I want Him to consciously become part of my everyday life.

Hello, I am nicole. I want to ask for a prayer for myself. I’ve started my journey with God 5 years ago, it was the best year of my life. I was on fire for Him. That’s when I felt how it feels what peace looks like. But I’ve drifted away from Him 3 years ago because I’ve lost control of myself. I was distracted by the world. Last year, I’ve tried to go back but it doesn’t feel the same way and had drifted away from Him again. Just last last month, I’ve been trying to focus on Him again. It might not be the same as before but I am trying my best not to be distracted by the world again. It wasn’t easy, because when I started, I was on fire for Him. But I’ve changed so much today and I want to go back to the days that I trust Him so much. Like my focus was on Him only to the point I didn’t care what’s gonna happen to me at school or any other public places. I’ve been struggling with anxiety since I was in grade 3. Caused by a childhood trauma. I had a chaotic family. I am struggling with severe anxiety and depression. He already healed me before, I already got better. But it’s my fault anyway because I chose the world over Him. And now, my anxiety and depression are getting worse. I don’t even go outside anymore. I don’t even go to my classes. I’ve been really trying to go back to Him. Because I want Him. I want to be with Him. But please pray for me to be healed again and to get better. I’ve been talking to Him and reading His words and testimonies from other people. I’ve tried medication and I’ve seek for a professional help for my anxiety and depression but it did not help me. I believe only prayer can help me to get through this. Because this had happened before and it was a miracle for me. Please also pray for my journey with God🙏 Thank you so much

I've currently been working on appreciating God more and accepting all that he's done for me and my friends and family. I know that god loves everyone unconditionally and he wants us to do more good than bad
I keep struggling with lust and feel almost slave to it and feel like I can't escape from it. But I know our lord and savior will help me out of it. If I just come to him and stop denying him not that I deny him, but I feel like I'm not deserving of his love and I feel like that he's gonna stop forgiving me if I keep doing this and I keep bettering myself, but I keep falling back into it.

I currently have gotten sick. Its gotten in the way of my life, and im unsure of how things will go. This is my first time asking for someone to pray for me. But I'd like to ask if anyone can pray for me getting better and healing so thay I could go back to my normal life and do what I normally did.
