Prayer for Good Friday
Jesus,
You suffered because the torture and sorrow you endured on the cross were necessary for the salvation of humanity. You did not want us to be slaves to fear, anxiety, or sin, so you sacrificed yourself so that love could prevail.

"It is finished"
was a cry of victory because you defeated everything that held us in bondage.
Because of your sacrifice, I can experience a new life. Thank you! Show me how to remain steadfast in your truth, and use me to reach the world you died to free.

When I met you for the first time, it was as if I was reading about a God I knew well. It was not an introduction but a meeting with great longing. I love you very much, Lord.
