Eternal Father, God of glory and power, You who spoke in times past through the prophets, and in these last days have spoken to us through the Son, I pray that Your living and effective Word penetrates to the deepest part of the soul of those You have chosen before the foundation of the world.

Open their eyes, Lord, so they may see the beauty of Christ, who is superior to the angels, greater than Moses, our eternal High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek. Make them understand the infinite value of His sacrifice, a perfect offering that does not need to be repeated, for by one offering You have made perfect forever those who are being sanctified.

Father, break the hardened hearts; let there not be in them an evil heart of unbelief that turns them away from the living God. In Your mercy, prevent them from despising such a great salvation. Make them partakers of the eternal rest to which You call us through Christ.

I beseech You, Lord, to irresistibly draw Yours to You. Engrave Your laws in their hearts, write Your new covenant in their minds, and grant them the faith that perseveres to the end.

May they look to Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, and as they see His glory, renounce the sin that besets them and run with patience the race set before them.

Oh faithful God, fulfill Your promise in them: "I will not destroy my work in them, but I will work in their hearts so that they do my will." May every chosen one who has not yet come, come. May every soul that has not yet believed, believe. For the glory of Your name, by the power of Your Spirit, and by the merits of Christ Jesus. Amen.
