I realised that i’ve been doing a work only salvation. Now i dont really know how to balance it out with faith and how should I apply my works, but I realised the signs that im maybe doing a work only salvation. I would like to ask the community and the Lord to guide me, and to change my mindset a little. God bless yall!

I always tell the kids, “if you’re a disciple of Jesus, you’ll want to make Him happy by obeying Him and you’ll want to be like Him by doing as He teaches in the Bible.” Your actions are not going to save you. The only thing that can save you is the blood of Jesus. But if you love someone, you want to please them, and that is where acts come in. You are an ambassador of Christ (2 Corinthians). Your actions should not be seeking to earn your salvation, but to shine God’s light and share His love with the world.

Hello, brother. I’d like to give you insight on the simple concept of Salvation as a Christian. Works are in important in the Christian faith but that is not why we are saved. We are saved by grace through faith. All we have to do is place our faith in what Jesus did for me and you on the cross. We cannot work for our salvation or earn it. We are not justified by what we do, rather with what he did. His blood is enough for you to be saved. He already loves you and has called you; you cannot earn it. None of us can. Think of, if we could earn our salvation and save ourselves, then what use is Jesus shedding his blood for us on the cross? Nonetheless, we are saved through faith. But, our works still matter. In James 2:14-26 we are told that works prove our salvation, not earn it. If we are truly saved and place our faith in Jesus, we will begin to seek and desire his will. We will avoid any temptations that may grieve his heart. These things are possible because of our salvation which produces the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Bible Verse for this Prayer

Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.
