I ask for prayer my heart, conscience, and mouth are guarded.
✝️ Blessed is the Sabbath. 🫂
Ask God to set a guard — daily, explicitly
“Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.”
(Psalm 141:3, KJV)
⸻
2) Refuse speech that is rushed, pressured, or performative
Falsehood and vanity thrive on haste and pressure.
“He that believeth shall not make haste.” (Isaiah 28:16, KJV)
If speech feels:
• urgent without peace
• compelled
• self-justifying
• defensive
Pause. Silence is obedience at times.
“In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin.” (Proverbs 10:19, KJV)
Silence is often the righteous choice.
⸻
3) Anchor your words to truth, not outcome
Vanity speaks to achieve, control, or appear.
Truth speaks because it is true.
“Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour.” (Ephesians 4:25, KJV)
Ask internally before speaking:
• Is this true?
• Is this necessary?
• Does this align with God’s goodness?
If not, do not speak it.
⸻
4) Reject counterfeit discernment immediately
False discernment:
• flatters urgency
• feeds self-importance
• produces agitation or fear
True discernment:
• produces peace
• aligns with obedience
• does not contradict Scripture
“The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable…”
(James 3:17, KJV)
If it is not pure and peaceable, it is not from God.
⸻
5) Bind your mouth to God’s Word, not your feelings
Feelings fluctuate. The Word does not.
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
(Psalm 119:11, KJV)
When tempted to speak vanity, speak Scripture instead — or remain silent.
⸻
6) Commit your hands as well as your mouth
You mentioned “a right hand of falsehood” — Scripture treats action and speech together.
“Let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.”
(1 John 3:18, KJV)
Truthful action reinforces truthful speech.
Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
