We are like Judas. The thing that hurts me the most about Judas is the fact that he did not repent, the fact that he did not ask for forgiveness because he felt impure. Maybe we can say we are Peter with anger issues, James and John ready to attack, Matthew who had chosen money. Maybe we are a bit of each of them. But the fact is that we are Judas every single day, sins are committed every day. But the thing that stops our faith as Christians is the fact of not asking for forgiveness and then not forgiving ourselves once God has forgiven us. Judas could have asked for forgiveness, he didn't do it out of fear, because he felt impure and let himself die. Many Christians meet his end, but they don't just die physically but spiritually. They create dependencies, they let themselves go to thoughts and anxieties and this kills them. Jesus knocks, and if we open our hearts to him, he is already ready to embrace us and heal our wounds.
