How? You seem like a decent person. If you have something you are ashamed of then that's something you can put behind you. I mean that. Even if it's an addiction or something. You can talk to a doctor and get that treated.

Seek him in private. Dedicate a space in your room to praying and speak openly with him. If you have to cry, then cry, if you feel upset about something then say it. He will hear you. Read his word as well. 📖 When I ask for something whether it is too provide me with more strength and clarity I always give something up as well whether it is something material or more time away from the TV to read. I pray he draws closer to you but most importantly trust that when his children call on him he is there ❤️🙏🏼✝️

Are you fasting while reading his Word? It's very powerful but you have to meet God halfway. It's not the same as praying. You don't have to fast for days, just postpone one meal then eat later.

Please remember silence is not Him leaving you alone, but like a test, the teacher is always there listening but not speaking. May God show you his unfailing love.
