Bible Scripture Isaiah 26:8 (KJV):
“Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.”
Revelation:
Isaiah 26:8 speaks of patient devotion and deep longing for God.
1. Waiting Is an Act of Worship
Waiting on God in the midst of his judgments means:
• trusting his timing
• submitting to his process
• honoring his authority
Waiting does not weaken faith it proves it.
2. Desire Shapes Direction
“The desire of our soul” reveals priority.
What you long for most determines:
• how you wait
• how you worship
• how you walk
When God is your desire, obedience follows naturally.
3. God Name Represents His Character
Longing for God name means longing for:
• His holiness
• His justice
• His mercy
• His presence
You don’t just want his help you want him.
4. Remembrance Sustains Faith
Remembering God past faithfulness strengthens trust for the future.
Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus,
Teach me to wait for you with patience and trust.
Let my soul desire you above everything else.
Help me remember your faithfulness in every season.
I declare:
I wait on the Lord.
My soul longs for his presence.
My hope is anchored in God.
Thank you, Lord, for being my greatest desire and my eternal reward. In Jesus greatest name I pray, Amen.
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
