To take a thought captive we must first catch it and we pick up a lot of stuff in our subconscious mind which runs most of our lives and sometimes the thoughts can come from the subconscious or as the Bible says Arrows by day Thats when the enemy is throwing shots at you to cause fear or doubt or through temptation however we are built in Gods image we continue to pour out to God even when we don’t feel his presence there he’s there I get those thoughts when I have unresolved issues that I have had in the past and God will also pull back to fight for us or to see if we will continue to seek him first if we can’t feel him I go in harder when I can’t feel him Also when I can’t feel him I still see him everywhere and in most everything I encounter I find a piece of God Im it.
