Good morning blessings 📖🙏🙌🫶
Bible Scripture Matthew 5:6 (KJV):
“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
Reflection:
This beatitude speaks to those who are not satisfied with the world but deeply crave God presence, God will, and God righteousness.
Just as the body longs for food and water, the soul of a believer should long for holiness, purity, and closeness to God.
“Hunger and thirst” is strong language git means:
• an intense desire
• a desperate longing
• a continual pursuit
• a heart that refuses to be satisfied with anything less than God
Jesus promises that those who have this hunger shall be filled.
Not might, not possibly, but shall.
God fills the hungry with his peace, his word, his wisdom, his presence, and his spirit.
This verse reminds us that spiritual hunger attracts divine fullness. The more you seek him, the more he pours out. The more you desire him, the more he reveals himself.
Prayer:
Father God,
Give me a deeper hunger and thirst for righteousness.
Stir my spirit so that I long for your word, your presence, and your will above all else.
Fill every empty place in me.
Satisfy my soul with your truth, your love, and your holiness.
Remove anything in me that feeds the flesh instead of the spirit.
Lord, draw me closer. Increase my desire for you until seeking you becomes my greatest priority and delight. In Jesus graceful name I pray, Amen.
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?
