Religion and being a child of god are definitely two different things, religion is just a bunch of practices that people do and they think that they can pretty much earn their way to god, all kind of religions out there have this mindset about it! You’re already on the right track! Jesus is the way the truth and the life! Reminder john 14:6 -Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Also, I don’t know exactly where your family stands with knowing Jesus as their lord and savior but! Scripture does say this too in 1 John 4:3 “and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.” The devil can most certainly use the ones closest to us to cause confusion as well! This is why we need to keep the whole armor of god on and pray without ceasing at all times which I UNDERSTAND can be very challenging at times, he gave us his spirit and by his strength YES WE CAN DO THIS! Be careful please, and don’t get caught up with going to church if you currently are and if it’s causing you confusion. Most importantly before making a decisions Let’s pray together about this.
