Bible Scripture Proverbs 10:5 (KJV):
“He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.”
Reflection:
This verse highlights the importance of discernment, timing, and responsibility.
The “summer” and “harvest” seasons symbolize opportunity and the moments when God opens doors, provides increase, or gives assignments. A wise person recognizes the season they’re in and responds with action, preparation, and diligence.
But the one who “sleepeth in harvest” misses divine opportunities because of:
   •   distraction
   •   procrastination
   •   lack of awareness
   •   laziness
   •   spiritual dullness
Missing a harvest doesn’t just delay blessing it leads to lack, shame, and regret.
This scripture calls us to be spiritually alert and prepared:
   •   When God opens a door, walk through it.
   •   When God provides increase, steward it.
   •   When God reveals purpose, pursue it.
Wisdom sees the season.
Foolishness sleeps through it.
Prayer:
Father God,
Give me the wisdom to recognize the seasons you place before me.
Open my eyes to every opportunity, assignment, and harvest you have ordained.
Remove every spirit of distraction, procrastination, and spiritual sleep.
Awaken me to your timing and help me gather diligently while it is time to work.
Lord, let me be a wise steward who acts in season, responds with obedience, and walks in your timing.
Don’t let me miss my harvest. In Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen.
To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.
