You don't have to wait to get closer to God. Everything you've ever gone through has brought you to him. He is proud of where you are. Surround yourself with things and people that will bring you closer to him, but especially, when you feel like you want to give up, or start to miss anything from your past, just know you are held. You're not alone.

Have you done a light fast? Read His Word on an empty stomach. It's very powerful. The Holy Spirit will comfort you. Also repeat the Lord's prayer until you feel His touch.
