hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing well! I just wanted to ask for prayer for my current situation. I’m 16 years old and ever since I was 11, I’ve been struggling with depression on and off, and anxiety almost everyday. I started following Jesus about a year ago now. And when I first started everything, it almost felt like God took away every negative and anxious thought I had. But after a couple months when I started falling into sin a lot, that changed. And it’s been getting increasingly worse to the point I’m questioning God and I feel myself pulling away from Him more and more. But even though I feel and see it actively happening im not sure what to do. I don’t want to be depressed or anxious anymore because I know God has something better for me then living miserably and continuing to fall into the same sin of lust which has been a big reason why I’ve been feeling depressed. I just want to build my relationship with God and become closer to who He intended me to be. I want to stop doing the things I hate and become closer to the One I love. Any advice and prayers would be very appreciated and helpful. Thank you and I hope you have a blessed day or night

Hey, advice from another teen who got past depression- I know it seems hard or unlikely or you may not even consider it at all, but you should try being an optimist. This doesn't mean you have to be perfect, or every thought has to be happy, but just try to look on the bright side. For example, you're upset because one of your friends is being annoying or dramatic, well, at least you have a friend. Try to think on the other side of every situation. Think about it, sometimes the thing you are complaining or upset about is something others seek or don't have. Instead of listening to sad music, listen to uplifting music. I know that you want to see that others can relate, understand your pain. I promise, they do, but it's not going to make you feel better

Bible Verse for this Prayer

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
